Career Summary:Matt Engberg has been a Professional Forester for Northwest Management, Inc. since 1994. He is responsible for timber cruising for acquisitions and appraisals, harvest volume, management plans and resource inventory for silvicultural prescriptions. He marks timber for harvest operations, administers timber sales and tree planting, performes prescribed burning and wildfire suppression and determines acreages with a GPS unit. Mr. Engberg is also required to research, compose and assist in the implementation of Stewardship Plans for private NMI clients.
Mr. Engberg's previous experience includes working for the US Forest Service for 6 field seasons. He participated in prescribed burning activities, trained and supervised for fire suppression, applied timber cruising methods and installed permanent growth plots for future analysis. He also conducted forest inventories such as stand exams, old growth, pre and post thinning activities, sensitive plants and downed-woody fuel.
